The Passion Window
| This is one of the most interesting of
Westminster's windows. The perspective on the crucifixion is from behind, with Jesus
hanging lifeless from the cross (Mark 15:16-39). The cross, anchored in the green hill,
has the skull in the lower right hand corner of the window symbolizing Golgotha (which
means The Place of a Skull) (Mark 15:22). Standing in the foreground to the left is the
Roman Centurion who witnessed the death of Jesus and confessed, "Truly this man was
the Son of God!" (Mark 15:39).
