| The window closest to the pulpit pictures the
ascension of the risen Christ. (Acts 1:6-11). Christ's departing promise is that
"… you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall
be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in Judea and Samaria and to the end of the earth"
(Acts 1:8). The wounds in Jesus' feet and right hand are visible, while in his left hand
he holds the flag of eternal life. Christ ascends with the promise that he will return.
